Monitoring performance | Legrand Mauritius

FOR OPTIMIZED ENERGY CONSUMPTION

In order to reduce the energy costs of data centers, it is necessary to set up performance indicators which allow real-time monitoring of equipment consumption and, consequently, of overall consumption.

For maximum efficiency, cooling system optimization and power loss reduction solutions can be combined with measurement and supervision systems. These systems can be used to monitor in real time the state of consumption per use, the overall consumption of the installations and the power consumed by the equipment. By taking corrective actions, it is then possible to reduce energy expenses.

OVERALL DATACENTER CONSUMPTION FOR ALL PUE CATEGORIES

This solution is used to measure the total energy consumed by the data center (in the technical room). The measurement of the consumption must be included in the TGBT (general low voltage switchboard), thus allowing to reduce the losses of the UPS, the power consumed by the cold production and the consumption of the computer equipment.

ASI'S CONSUMPTION DOWNSTREAM FOR A CATEGORY 0 OR 1 PUE

Whether it is at the level of the divisional switchboards or the ASl, it is a question of measuring the energy consumed per phase to know the energy performance of the UPS despite the heterogeneity of the IT equipment, In order to enable phase rebalancing maintenance, it is interesting to include measurement modules in the divisional electrical boards in the rooms, with a direct display of the intensities per phase. Also, through the internal electronic cards of the UPS, it is possible to bring back the energy consumption data in order to calculate the PUE.

OVERALL CONSUMPTION OF A RACK OR A SERVER

It is a function of measuring the energy consumed by computer systems. This monitoring requires innovative solutions. To meet this specific need in data centers, Legrand offers: PDU (Power Distribution Unit) solutions, intelligent hybrid rack transfer switches and monitoring solutions, whether it be branch circuit monitoring (BCM) or DCIM monitoring.
